Day 2: Your favorite movie.
This is much harder than my favorite book, because I enjoy many of the movies on the same level.. but in the end I gotta make a choice, and I’m going with this one:

Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire. Mainly because I think this movie was a triumph and brilliantly made. I’ve always loved the story: the Triwizard tournament with its three tasks and of course the return of Lord Voldemort.. I think the movie handled the whole book fantastically. The first two tasks were exceptionally well done - the Dragon and the underwater world were really good and convincing CGI and I very much enjoy watching it. The third task was done well too, but I feel they left out a lot of the essence of it that was in the book. I was very sad all the creatures were missing. But then I just think back to the second task and I’m once again very happy:

The return of Lord Voldemort looked great too. Of course, they got a lot of it right already when they cast Ralph Fiennes but it just looks fabulous and how they changed his face is incredible. Despite the scene being terrifying, I love to watch it over and over again.
What I also really like in this movie is the incredible amount of detail: the Yule Ball set for instance is absolutely stunning and also that the champion of Beauxbatons was announced by the Goblet Of Fire on a little fan instead of a bit of paper. But those are just a few examples. :)
To top it off, I think the cast gave a stellar performance and I also really loved the score. The only thing I didn’t like really is that they cut so much from the last chapters of the book, because I believe they were pretty vital.. but the rest makes up for it and I suppose this really is the movie I’ve seen most times! We even saw it with my whole school year (around 200 people I think) in the cinema. It was awesome.

Okay, seeing as I’m going on a holiday for nearly 2 weeks, I have the most awful timing but I really wanted to do this.. I’ll catch up, somehow.
Day 1: Your favorite book.
This is easy. All of the books are absolutely awesome, but without a doubt number 3, Prisoner Of Azkaban, is my favourite! I didn’t read the original until this year, but when I was younger I read the Dutch translation so many times that it’s quite a tattered copy now.. I think I read it close to 40 times? Couldn’t get enough of it. It’s a lovely story, it just has bits of everything: adventure, humor, excitement and there’s also a little terror thrown in the mix. Besides, this book introduces some of my favourite characters ever (Sirius & Lupin), the Marauder’s Map and not to forget the Hippogriffs and the Time-Turner! Really, it’s perfect.

Aww, just look at the nice covers! I really do love Hippogriffs. :D
