Day 2: Your favorite movie. This is much harder than my favorite book, because I enjoy many of the movies on the same level.. but in the end I gotta make a choice, and I’m going with this one:
Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire. Mainly because I think this movie was a triumph and brilliantly made. I’ve always loved the story: the Triwizard tournament with its three tasks and of course the return of Lord Voldemort.. I think the movie handled the whole book fantastically. The first two tasks were exceptionally well done - the Dragon and the underwater world were really good and convincing CGI and I very much enjoy watching it. The third task was done well too, but I feel they left out a lot of the essence of it that was in the book. I was very sad all the creatures were missing. But then I just think back to the second task and I’m once again very happy:
The return of Lord Voldemort looked great too. Of course, they got a lot of it right already when they cast Ralph Fiennes but it just looks fabulous and how they changed his face is incredible. Despite the scene being terrifying, I love to watch it over and over again.
What I also really like in this movie is the incredible amount of detail: the Yule Ball set for instance is absolutely stunning and also that the champion of Beauxbatons was announced by the Goblet Of Fire on a little fan instead of a bit of paper. But those are just a few examples. :)
To top it off, I think the cast gave a stellar performance and I also really loved the score. The only thing I didn’t like really is that they cut so much from the last chapters of the book, because I believe they were pretty vital.. but the rest makes up for it and I suppose this really is the movie I’ve seen most times! We even saw it with my whole school year (around 200 people I think) in the cinema. It was awesome.
Okay, seeing as I’m going on a holiday for nearly 2 weeks, I have the most awful timing but I really wanted to do this.. I’ll catch up, somehow.
Day 1: Your favorite book. This is easy. All of the books are absolutely awesome, but without a doubt number 3, Prisoner Of Azkaban, is my favourite! I didn’t read the original until this year, but when I was younger I read the Dutch translation so many times that it’s quite a tattered copy now.. I think I read it close to 40 times? Couldn’t get enough of it. It’s a lovely story, it just has bits of everything: adventure, humor, excitement and there’s also a little terror thrown in the mix. Besides, this book introduces some of my favourite characters ever (Sirius & Lupin), the Marauder’s Map and not to forget the Hippogriffs and the Time-Turner! Really, it’s perfect.
Aww, just look at the nice covers! I really do love Hippogriffs. :D
In loving memory of every cancer patient, family member and friend who has lost the battle with cancer and the ones who continue to CONQUER it! Put this on your page for 1 hour if you know someone who has or has had cancer. Many won't REBLOG THIS. I did. Will you?
Now, since I can’t give you a pig’s tail right now, I’m just going to tear you to pieces for the 61st time.
A Very Potter Musical is genius. The writing is great and the songs are catchy. Now, it’s a mix of all the plots because it would…
Ok, I wasn’t taking all of this serious until now! How you dare, stupid little girl! How you dare! Musicals aren’t bad! They are capables to help people through their most difficult times and bring joy to millions of life! AVPM is not but one of the greatest musical parodies of all times! The cast is stunning and the plot hilarious. Of course, I understand why you didn’t like it, after reading all 4 Twilight books it’s hard to find something more hilarious, because we all know those books and films were made as comedies, right?
So Twilight is better because it has no musical? Then what is this? At least AVPM was good & funny & catchy, but someone who cites musicals as ‘very bad’ wouldn’t understand. Obviously you don’t get out much.
I don’t know where you get the nerve to insult musicals just to prove your fucking ‘point’. (Which is downright silly anyway.) Musicals are stories, portrayed by passion, music & acting. There is something so incredibly beautiful in that, but of course, being so narrowmindedly focused on Twilight (whose actors seem, from what I’ve seen, to lack all three), you couldn’t understand that. Oh no. So we just insult all of the musicals to say Twilight is better because really, obviously ~nothing~ can be as good as our beloved Twilight! Read some Sondheim girl and tell me what the fuck is written better. So most musicals are very bad? I doubt you’ve heard even 1% of what’s out there. Perhaps you should listen to more musicals, musicals from now and over the last couple of decades, because they are vastly different and I can assure you that there will be more shows you like than you expected. Why? Because that’s the charm of theatre. Not one show is the same. You can’t possibly hate it all.
Oh, and another thing? Most musical stars are dedicated to their fans and devoted to their work (unlike, lets say, Robert Pattinson who admits to hating Edward and being happy when the 7 months of filming are over?). They’re wonderful wonderful people. And they don’t deserve to be so severely insulted because of a bloody contest in books! Being a musical star is one of the hardest jobs missy and writing it off like that makes you an idiot.
Stereotyping is bad for you girl. You shouldn’t do it. Should I call all Twilight fans stupid because of the few idiots like you who ruin it for the rest? No, of course not. I have friends who like Twilight (and probably won’t like this post, but oh well) who are perfectly normal and friendly people. You should take a leaf out of their book.
I wouldn’t normally get involved in this discussion missy, but you cannot insult one whole branch of good theatre for something as stupid as the Twilight vs. Harry Potter discussion.
They say true friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question their friendship. These types of friends pick up just like they spoke yesterday, regardless of how long it has been or where they live...ReBlog if you are lucky to have at least one of those!
